I have to apologise, I had really hard time discarding pictures so there are quite a few in this post! Sorry if takes ages to load.
The only support managed to see were Gallows (who were lovely and came and said hello), after that we were roped into do the press thing like this interview with BBC Breakfast, meeting the band and meeting Jimmy Page! So I think I can be excused. I have heard that Gogol Bordello were amazing though!
Not long before the gig we were told we’d be going on the actual stage to accept a giant cheque representing all the money raised for Shelter. Unbelievably scary! The cheque is now in my kitchen (Shelter get the real one you can take into a bank).
We got to watch the show from the side of the stage which is indescribable. Just amazing! Thanks so much to everyone who bought Killing In The Name and everyone who came! I hope you all got home relatively intact…but judging by the mosh pit I bet a fair few of you were bruised!
Huge huge thank you to Rage Against The Machine and their team…such very lovely people and they made us so welcome.

Nice pics! If only I could set as background. Wish I was there. But was in USA
wonderful campaign, gig and photos – legends!
Hi to you both,
Thanks for posting these amazing shots. I made it down to the gig (albeit on my friends ticket!), but sadly couldn’t make much headway through the crowds to see the action from close-up.
Thankyou both also for making the gig possible in the first. It’s a great thing you’ve done, not only in knocking the botox-browed Cowell down a peg or two, but also in managing to provide such vital support to a charity such as Shelter. Plus I managed to mosh at 31 without getting (too) smashed up!
All the best for your future endeavours
Woody
brilliant pics
Great, great images of a fine band of true gentlemen. There are some scintillating shots here; Amongst many, I particularly love IMG_0507, but that’s just me. Enjoy this fine record of a night . . x

Thanks for everything. You realised one of my ambitions.. xx
Brutal! Seen them many times and this was incredible! I’m still in pain from the pit action but all well worth it!
Who is the girl in being crowdsurfed out IMG_0467 ???? Spent like half the gig picking her up… Add me if you see this picture… “Theres a baby!!!!!!”
Amazing pics, are there any you can send me was my first ever concert and wanna show they guys at work what they missed, do you know if there is going to be a dvd release? The Simon Cowell cartoon was sooo funny!
Sorry I can’t give any pictures to anyone. It’s the rules, I can only use them in pre-approved places.
aw, these guys were the soundtrack to my formative years. whenever i think sustainable development and politics, there is a little rage in my head, i even chat to my kids in school about them. never made the gig but thank you so much for letting me smile ecstatically to myself in my bedroom! YEE HA! That’s your good deed for the whole year done!!!
Absolutely amazing photos Tracy!! I felt so lucky to be at the gig and travel down over from Glasgow just to be there.
I got an idea – if there’s a DVD of the gig in some form put together… would it not be an idea to get everyone’s clips from YouTube of various bits of the gig, and somehow splice it all together, so you would see so many different angles of the set itself?
I’ve got a far number of clips though will need to upload them during the week as my laptop isn’t working too well at the moment.
Here’s the photos I took on the day – you and Jon should be so proud over what you achieved for Rage, the fans, Shelter and for saving the Christmas No.1 for 2009: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=222811&id=537756272&l=0147bdcb95 x x x
Totally blew my mind, travelled down from Ayr on the Saturday and spent the whole weekend in London. Had seen Rage before at the Glasgow Barrowland in 93 or 94 and i thought that was hectic,Passed to quickly too.Was having an awesome time down there jumping sweating and totally knackered, but was well worth it.All the best and heres to the next one.
Great photos, but by the way, they’re just called Gallows, not ‘The Gallows’!

Thank you so, so much for sharing these superb pictures! My daughter and I were there, and also somehow managed to get a 2 second slot in the BBC Breakfast report (around the 52 second mark if you were interested!). It was an awesome day, and you both totally deserved to be on stage – after all, it was all down to you for staring off such an inspiring and heart-felt campaign. Hats off to both of you!! xxxxx
